Textbook: Global Transformations, Chapter 9
Day 1:
Day 1:
- Collect "Change" Paragraphs from students (they picked one of the guiding questions from our last unit to answer in paragraph form) and any outstanding pieces of their Revolution Project: the project itself, the bibliography, the guiding questions or the self assessed rubric.
- Students will begin out new unit with reviewing the unit outline. From this they will learn the SOI and guiding questions. On the back of that green sheet, have students write down 3 things they know and 3 things that they wonder about the War of 1812. Then have them choose one of those wonder questions to write on a sticky note (no name required) and add it to our wonder wall on the back. (Use a pin to make sure it stays)
- Students will start this unit off with a Gallery Walk of the Pre War of 1812 background info. Students will walk around the room filling in the blanks on their note page with information on blue slips at the back of the room.
- Students will then try to predict how the changes made to New France by changing it into BNA would make the citizens feel. Try to have two things that citizens would be happy about and two things that they would not like. These are to be collected by the end of class.
Day 2:
1.Students will complete guided notes on Upper Canada pre 1812 PPt.
2. Students willl complete a jigsaw with four groups. Students will review a PPT recording their information on a note sheet. They will be responsible for teaching the other students about their section.

Day 3:
1. Return to unit outline. Are we able to answer any of the questions yet? even just partially?
2. Return to the back side of your timeline sheet from day one. If you havent already answered the question on the back (predict how the changes made to New France by changing it into BNA would make the citizens feel), please do so. Then write a paragraph explaining how what they learned on this topic proves the SOI correct or incorrect.
