Option 1: If time permits (its does for June 2019)
The end off our course, students will be creating a newspaper with articles covering the topics of the course. We will be in the lab or have access to the Chrome books for about 5 days. This will be due at the end of class on Wednesday January 23rd. Whatever is done at that point needs to be submitted. The more diversity within your newspaper demonstrating learning from across the course will be to your advantage. There are several required aspects but also several optional pieces can be included if you desire a 7-8 mark. Final Newspaper Assignment.
Option 2: June 2019 is doing this.
We will be holding a treasure hunt around the schools grounds of Maggie and slightly towards SLMS. Students will be put into pairs or groups by me and then given a starting location in coordinates based off of the map that I have created and supplied to each pair. All students will be given this info at the front stairs. Students will have to go to that location to find a box labelled "Station #". once there, they need to record the coordinates and the name of the location on their answer sheet which will be provided to them with a clip board. There will be a skill testing question(s) at each station. once that question has been answered and recorded on their sheet, they will need to go to the next station. The coordinates for the new station at located at the station before. Each station will work in this fashion.
When they get to a station with a person manning it, such as Ms. Weber, they require her signature on their sheet, but that trick to getting her signature is to have all correct answers thus far ( she has an answer sheet). If any of your answers are wrong, students will need to back track to that station to try again.
The first group that is done will need to come find me (I will be taking pictures at first but when i notice students are close to being done I will head to the back SW corner of the gym. I will also be looking for all correct answer before I hand out the final puzzle in an envelope. The first group to complete all of this correctly will win a prize, and so will all groups.
**Remember that other students are in the school writing exams so once we leave the building, you can not go back in until we all return as a group- quietly!

End of Course Teacher Reflection Survey. This will be anonymous. Your answers will be compiled for me to review and gain some feedback. This wasnt working well for my other class so try this link if the first one doesnt work.
End of Course Student Self Assessment. This one will have your name attached. You should have a fairly good idea where your mark is. This is an opportunity for you to reflect back on the course and think about how you did, what you are most proud of and where you can improve for the future. Try to use the IB language provided.
