Textbook: TBD
Day 1:
1.Start with the Unit Outline and discuss what they already previously know and recently have learned about Canadian Confederation.
2. Hand out note package for Confederation. This is one booklet that will take us through all of our Confederation PPt.
3. After today's Stop Point we will be using the knowledge learned up to this point to complete a Quick Write: In 1 to 2 paragraphs explain how Confederation would be a good and a bad thing for the typical person living during this time. You are a person living in what is going to be Canada. Write a letter to a friend also living in Canada about how you feel that Confederation will be a good and bad thing for you. You can pick your character’s ancestry but explain it as this is connected to their bias. Be specific why you think this way and provide details, more than “just a gut feeling.” Feel free to use the information that we have covered as a class in today’s presentation and any other information from class. Students can write in the space below on their note package.

Day 2:
1. Review yesterday's Confederation introduction and quick writes.
2. Continue on with the second section of Confederation.
3. The activity for today is Four Corners/ Yes-Yes but…-No but…-No. Now that we have looked at many of the reasons for and against Confederation, you will need to decide where you stand on the topic and pick an appropriate corner to be in. Corners will be labeled and we need at least 1 person in each corner. I will be asking for your corner privately so you aren’t influenced by your peer’s decisions. Once you are in the corner with your peers, you will need to share your opinion why you chose that corner. As a group you need to come up with a 1 minute explain for your standpoint and elect a spokesperson to deliver this. After each group has had a turn to speak then you decide if you still feel that you are in the correct corner or if you need to move.
4. Post-activity, you will complete a quick write about why you picked the corner that you did and why or why not you decided to move. Please do so in the space below on the sheet.

Day 3:
1. Review by playing Hot Seat. Have one student sitting at the front look towards the class so they can not see the board behind them. The Teacher will write down a term/person/place/etc on the board and the class has to help the student in the "Hot Seat" to guess correctly. They can not shout out the answer, says that its rhymes with, or sounds like, or spell out any of the word.
2. Finish the Confederation PPT.
3. The last activity for this section is having each student create 5 multiple choice questions with answers about confederation to be used to create out Confederation Kahoot Quiz for later this week. Try to avoid the obvious like what day did Canada become a country? I will pick at least one from each student to be included.
